With their Easton carbon fiber sole Vibram rubber outsole and impeccable Giro aesthetics the Code VR70 Shoes were a much-loved update to the original Codes. The Giro Code VR70 HV Shoes bring all that marvelous functionality to those of us with wide feet because even the biggest of feet still deserve a lightweight durable and comfortable shoe that can tackle any trail in style. The Code VR70 HVs closure system consists of a middle hook-and-loop strap that goes across the mid-foot and takes pride of place over the ratcheting buckle on the top strap. The middle strap essentially turns the entire panel of inner fabric into an extension of itself eliminating pressure on the metatarsal bones by pulling equally from a large swath of fabric on the inside of the foot. The bottom strap adjusts the fit around the toes so the firm fit at the top of the shoe doesnt have to extend to the toe box. The upper is made of Giros lightweight and highly breathable Evofiber with perforations for added cooling. This contributes not only to the sleek minimalist profile but it also reduces weight. The Evofiber is reinforced with high-frequency welded polyurethane in areas where your foot is likely to bash or get bashed by rocks. The polyurethane makes the upper feel a bit stiffer than it would if it were 100 Percent Evofiber but as the miles add up the poly will soften a bit and conform to your foot. Giro incorporates an Easton EC70 sole in the Code VR70 HV for a stiff efficient ride while a Vibram Mont outsole provides durable grip. Vibrams Mont comprises a pair of complementary compounds IdroGrip and Megagrip which respectively lean toward grip and durability for the right qualities in the right parts of the shoe. The outsoles tread pattern also accommodates flat pedal riding while providing debris clearance for two-bolt clipless cleats so theyll travel with you between disciplines. Item GIR005O Learn more
